Raising Money for Charity

During the 2004/2005 season we raised more than £1000 through generous donations and fundraising activities. At the Club's Annual Summer Ball on 10 June 2005 we presented a cheque for £1000 to the The Rainbow Centre.

For the 2005/2006 season we have again decided to support the The Rainbow Centre.

The Rainbow Centre exists to enable children with cerebral palsy, and their families, to benefit from Conductive Education.

Developed over the last 50 years, until recently, Conductive Education was only available at the Peto Institute in Budapest. The Rainbow Centre was established in 1990 to provide this special system of learning without the need to travel to Hungary.

Since 1990 The Rainbow Centre has helped over 150 children from 7 of the southern counties.

The Rainbow Centre Ltd is a registered charity that relies on voluntary donations. It is a fundamental principle of the centre that no child be denied Conductive Education due to lack of money. Their costs are met by fund raising and donations.

Costs
Annual cost of a Conducter £22,000
Annual cost of an Assistant £12,000
Weekly cost of one placement £450

Portsmouth and Southampton Mini Owners' Club is proud to be supporting this charity, and we hope to raise as much money as we can during the coming year for the Centre. At least the cost of one weekly placement, we aim to raise much more. If you wish to help, you can make a donation either through us or the Centre, or for more details on how The Rainbow Centre raises funds, visit their Fundraising Webpage.
