Recommended Garage

Postby Wings » Sun Jul 25, 2010 11:58 am

I have just had some quite extensive work done to my little project by a mechanic in Portsmouth. I have known the guy through my work for nearly 10 years! He's very honest and the garage is his own, so reputation matters.

I thought I had a problem with my Brake Master Cylinder and after an initial inspection he agreed, but needed to look further into it before committing to start the job. He found out that the master cylinder was fine and that the shoes needed replacing (a little more technical stuff happened, but beyond my understanding). He could've done both, but didn't and saved me around £100. I also needed a new headlight and indicator bulb to pass the MOT, yet again, with a closer inspection he saw the indicator bulb was fine, the connections just needed cleaning, and the headlight had a loose connection. Both sorted free of charge.

It's always good to hear a positive story about a garage, we usually only hear bad news. Thanks for the recommendation, I hope all is now well with the car.
