Broke down today(then got going??)

Hi All

I broke down today then strangly got going again as if nothing had happen. What a day to forget your mobile and forget everybodys telephone numbers including Andys lol. Ended up calling my mum in Yorkshire to call Andy on his mobile and have a three way conversation. Only for Andy to phone my neighbough to come out and help cause he could not leave work (not even to help).

Then went back to the car to see if it would start and started first time as if nothing had happened. I'll explain what happened and see if anyone knows whats up with arfa (the green 1998 rover cooper, not Alice)

Started up fine as I left work and I drove about 2 miles and stopped at the shop. When I got back in the car about ten minutes later would not start, battery lights etc were lit up but it was just clicking away as if it would not fire up. Has been a bit sluggish starting up the last couple of days.

Any ideas to whats up would be appreciated?

It sounds suspiciously like either a solenoid or starter problem. Although on the Rover Cooper they are together.

Lynne's Cooper suddenly packed up once and it was nothing more than the battery earth lead on th ecar body. a quick clean and tighen as it has been fine ever since.
