An excellent day out pottering around the IOW . Thank you both so much for organising it  and for the friendliness of everyone we met today :respect

Surprisingly Mr. Hankey made it round without the predicted and much anticipated death

Thank you all again

Just like to add our thanks to Nick and Jo for a great day out yesterday. We both enjoyed the run around the island and the choice of lunch venue was great too. The highlight for me was the sight of all those Minis in convoy as we drove along Freshwater bay.
The IOW club seemed to be a nice crowd, so hopefully they will come over here for a day out and we can treat them to a run around the Meon Valley.
Thanks again!

PANDSMOC inaugural Isle of Wight run – 14 Feb. 2010

Well the day started off as most other mini events, Jo & I were late leaving the house! After a quick mooch along the M27 we arrived at Rownhams services to meet most of the run waiting for us. Last to arrive were Stu, Bev & Michelle. Then a swift journey to the Red funnel Line termional @ dock gate 7, Southampton. Several Pictures later and much admiration of all the clean cars from the rest of the world, we boarded to ferry, headed outbound to IOW.

Just before we docked, I received a call from Sarah who had elected to meet us on the IOW, “ we are by the seafront with 20 mini from the IOW club!” Outstanding!!

We left the ferry, met the IOW crowd and as usual for Feb., it started to rain!!!:( A nice little trip down to the Alum bay park at the needles, where we monopolised one of the car parks, ( well you would with 37 mini wouldn’t you!)
Great place to visit, glass blowing demonstration, shops and fablious scenery.
After a good chat, toilet break etc we set off for our lunch destination, “the Fighting Cocks” at Arreton. If nothing else you need to go eat there, it was great! We only lost 2 cars on the way so not bad!!

After lunch , everyone was feeling stuffed and lethargic so not surprisingly the run disintegrated and people lost touch with each other so we all made our way back to the ferry terminal in small groups.

At the end of the dayit seems to have been a great success.
The PANDSMOC crowd met with the IOW club, and with over 35 minis all together and not a single “Mini moment” between us.

Big thanx to Matt Waldock of IOW mini’s and all of them who turned out to meet us and we are looking forward to meeting them again.
